WOMEN'S EDUCATION

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?"

Romans 10:13-14

The speaking ministry of Ann Davenport and Carolyn Outland is based on Biblical principles and dedicated to the spiritual growth of women. Their testimonies are based on years of ministry and missionary endeavors, having served across the U.S. and in over 20 countries. Believing that challenges produce change, they led a group that smuggled Bibles into a militant Muslim country and prayer-walked even under the threat of arrest.  Christ’s heart for the oppressed and poor in spirit led Ann and Carolyn to begin a ministry in the predominantly Buddhist country of Myanmar. (Burma)

Nationally, they have conducted spiritual growth conferences in several states and are in demand as speakers and conference leaders. Internationally, they have spoken at meetings where most of the attendees were unbelievers. Evangelism and discipleship are foundational to their conferences.

Ann and Carolyn have written three books: Overcoming the Ordinary Life: Blessings Beyond Barriers, Jolts & Joys: Bridging Troubled Times and Peace Under Pressure: Sheltered in the Storms.

CONFERENCE TOPICS

Bugs or Butterflies

The ugly bugs of illness, broken relationships, anxiety and loss can easily invade our homes. God is willing to transform our bugs into beautiful butterflies of grace. Learn how to use adversity as a witness of His power.

"This conference helped me see life from God's perspective. I was encouraged to use adversity as a stepping stone to spiritual growth."

Jolts and Joys

Life may bring serious jolts - economic hardship, depression, rejection, sickness or death of a loved one. God's plan is for His children to experience joy in the midst of hardship and to demonstrate His faithfulness to a lost world. This conference challenges Christians to follow the Biblical examples of Ruth and Naomi in handling life's tragedies and triumphs.

"Your conferences make me smile, laugh and cry. You use all emotions to draw me closer to the Lord."

Peace Under Pressure

Are you living out Christ's call in a pressure cooker? Is life more than you can confidently handle? God's provision for His people is peace under pressure. Learn how to claim God's promises to find calm in chaotic times and to be a living witness of His power.

"God spoke to me clearly during this conference, and I have made some major lifestyle changes. It helped me see there is a way out of my stress."

Achy, Breaky Heart

Every adult has experienced a broken heart. You, or someone you know, may have a broken heart today. Life brings difficulties, but have you ever prayed for a broken heart? Have you prayed that you will experience grief for the same things that break God’s heart? Discover ways to work through difficult times with God’s strength and bring God’s healing to those around you.

“This is the best conference I have ever heard and I have been to a lot of conferences.” “I laughed so hard during this conference. Yet, I was challenged spiritually and am leaving different than when I came.”

Not My Circus, Not My Monkeys

The circus is good for occasional entertainment. However, for many believers, society is a constant circus filled with a multitude of alluring attractions and distractions; pleasures, materialism, sports and worldly competition results of the makings of stress, pressure and anxiety. Learn to live above the allure of society, adopt Godly priorities and find your identity in Christ.

“I got up and left during this conference, called my husband and told him, “Plan a mission trip for us to go on this summer. I felt so convicted by God to serve.”

Prayerwalking in Power

Praying on site can be a transformative tool to grow a church or a ministry. This conference provides both training and inspiration to move church members outside the parameters of traditional prayer.

“Prayerwalking was awkward at first, but I quickly learned the Spirit was directing me to a powerful, new form of prayer.”

RETREAT TOPICS

Beautiful Reflections

This retreat is based on Jeremiah 18:1-6, the Potter and the clay. Highlighting the sovereignty of God, sessions move participants from their marred past to the possibilities of the present. The Potter’s intention is to use events in our lives to mold us into beautiful reflections of His Son.

“This retreat was a life-changing experience for our church's women. Following the last session, “Coming Off the Shelf,” the ladies planned ministry events to become involved in our community as a Christian witness.”

Peace Under Pressure: Sheltered in the Storms

This retreat is based on the book of the same title. Psalm 23 is a road map to find calm in chaotic times. Learn how to have an intimate relationship with the Good Shepherd that will ease the pressure of storms beyond our control.

“This retreat was a refreshing time for my spirit.”

Jolts and Joys: Bridging Troubled Times

God's plan for triumph over circumstances is revealed in the book of Ruth. This retreat is based on the Christian book of the same title published by Carolyn and Ann in 2008. Enjoy inspiration, humor and spiritual truths gleaned by the authors in this story of two Biblical role models. Ruth and Naomi's lives were preserved and renewed by their relationships with one another and Jehovah God. Your life, too, can be transformed from sorrow to joy by appropriating God's plan and purpose for living.

"As the women's ministry leader in my church, I was so grateful to see the immediate change in some of the women who attended this retreat. Two women who were new Christians had never shared from their hearts. However, the retreat enabled them to reveal their emotions by laughing, crying and sharing their hurts. The changes made in the lives of many women will have eternal benefits."

Overcoming the Ordinary Life: Blessings Beyond Barriers

This retreat is based on the book by the same title published by Carolyn and Ann in 2007. God's abundant life is filled with blessings, but the world erects barriers to Christian spiritual growth. Join the authors as they relate God's plan for a vibrant relationship with Christ and the supernatural resources He provides for ministry to a lost world. This retreat is filled with humor and personal illustrations to emphasize scriptural Truth. Learn how to overcome the worldly barriers of fear, greed and ritualistic religion and begin living the extraordinary life of a dynamic Christian.

"This retreat was exactly what we needed. It gave the women of our church a chance to fellowship and have fun, but more importantly, learn how to get outside the church walls through ministry. Women involved in Christian ministry and evangelism can spiritually impact lost people and change our church in the process."

Freedom from Fear

The modern Christian is often beset by fear. A Godly response is to put faith in Him. This three-part study examines the problem of fear, the solution of faith and allows participants to confront their fears in a Biblical way.

“The conference this weekend was for me. I have been wracked with fear for most of my life. You gave me hope that God sees me where I am and will give me the strength I need through the power of His Word.”
